Students, take notes

by Christy Robin

Are you having trouble reading your own notes? If so, then come to a free note-taking workshop.

The workshops on becoming a better note-taker are in progress for anyone who needs help with their note taking and comprehension skills.

Gayle Wood, Assistant to the Director of Admissions and Records for Student Retention, is teaching this workshop.

Wood said that although many students have been taking notes for over 20 years, they can learn something new by attending this seminar.

Wood also said, “There are five styles of note taking, and most people only know one of them.”

It will also teach better techniques for taking notes for different subjects.

“There are different techniques for taking notes in math and engineering than there are for taking notes in English and social science classes,” said Wood.

Pellissippi State Technical Community College will host this seminar at the Hardin Valley campus.

The first meeting will be held on March 11 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
