Veterans who teach, work and attend school at the Magnolia Avenue campus will be honored at a ceremony and breakfast on Veterans Day. Family, friends and campus staff will honor veterans at 8:45 a.m. Nov. 10 on the front plaza.
Campus Dean Rosalyn Tillman will conduct the pinning ceremony. Those in attendance are welcome to share words of appreciation. Staff member and professional saxophonist Marcel Holman will provide music. Afterwards, the veterans will be served breakfast.
Student worker Jacqueline Cox sent all veterans on campus an invitation, said Tillman.
“This is the first semester someone has been on campus to specifically serve our veterans,” Tillman said.
The campus now has a quiet space for veterans to sit or study. Cox, a veteran and work-study student, has designated office hours for veterans to stop by and check in. If there is an unmet need, Cox suggests available community resources.
